Perth, Here We Come Part I

Mummy's journal

18 April - afternoon
It was 1.45pm.. we arrived at the airport! All ready and set to leave for perth!

18 April - night
We arrived in Perth at 9.40pm.. the pilot announced "we have landed.. ahead of schedule!" haha.. for once, Tiger was ahead of schedule! We collected our baggages and headed for our vehicle. Whoa.. it was a little chilly out there.. but was so cool! K started navigation while J drove the vehicle. The vehicle - a 12 seater bus commuter rented from DriveNow was just nice for all of us & the luggages! Luckily we didn't go for the 8 seater car. We missed a few turns and finally arrived at Criterion Hotel. Well, the hotel was a little run down but still bearable for a nite stay - since major hotels were out of rooms.. we left with no choice. After we checked in, the daddies went out to buy some food.. what else.. came back with MacDonalds cos it was already 11pm. Jeriel was so excited.. running around the room and finally slept at 1plus!

19 April - Cloudy & Raining
We arranged to meet for breakfast at 9am. Just a quick breakfast (photo on right) before driving to Albany. We hoped to reach Albany before 6pm. Initially we were so fascinated to see herds of cows, sheeps and horses during our drive... haha.. after few hours.. there was no more excitement! cos it was so common along the drive. It was a long long drive. We stopped over at a nice cosy cafe for late lunch and continued the journey.

We reached Albany at around 7plus.. finally found our 3-rm apartment - Dolphin Lodge at Middleton Beach. Quite a decent place to stay for only AUD170 a nite. As usual the daddies went out to get food and bought some food for tomorrow's breakfast. They came back with few chinese dishes and white rice. Guess what the white rice costs AUD4.50 per pack! The simple dinner cost AUD75 - whoa that was steep!

20 April - Cloudy & Showers

Jeriel woke up the earliest as usual. We started to prepare breakfast - sumptuous breakfast with bacon, nutella, fresh milk, orange juice and bread! Despite the bad weather and the showers in the whole morning, we went ahead as planned. Our first stop - The Gap & Natural Bridge. Before we reached our destination, we found a driveway that led us to the spectacular coastline view! All the 3 kids were asleep, so it was an opportune time for us to 'sneak' out for a quick snap! We headed to the Gap next. The bad weather did not stop us from getting out of the car.. we dashed to the Gap, took a few shots and ran back to car as the rain got heavier. Even so, we still proceeded with the last destination of the day - windmill farm. By this time, all of kids have awaken, and luckily was a little better, so we managed to take some photos with our kids. Oh yes, we went to the Whale World as well. However we didn't go for the tour but instead bought a few souvenirs.

21 April - Cloudy

After breakfast, we started with our drive to Margaret River. We knew that it was going to be a long drive, so we planned to stop over a few places. First we went to Eden Gate Blueberry Farm. But it was drizzling again so we didn't have a chance to pluck berries. We ended up chatting with the owners and bought some nice jams!

Next, we stopped at The Toffee Factory. Finally the rain stopped and all of us happily got off the car and headed to the small little hut. We tasted the different toffee and bought some as gifts for our friends. The kids finally had a chance to get onto the ground.. Jeriel was so thrilled to see ducks waddling around and chickens clucking away.

We continued our journey...decided to take a break at Pemberton. The streets that we stopped by was a little ghostly looking; it was so quiet. We spotted a war memorial and Jeriel even posed in front of it.

We finally arrived at Margaret Beach Resort in the night. The apartment was spacious and clean! We were very impressed with the apartment! Great!

The story continues...pls bear with me while i update the post.. :)
